About me

Hi! I'm Hita, a second year PhD student at the University of Pennsylvania advised by Professors Andrew Head and Kevin Johnson. My research is supported by the NSF Graduate Research Fellowship.

Previously, I attended Carnegie Mellon University where I received a B.S. in Information Systems with minors in Computer Science and Machine Learning. During my time at CMU, I worked with Rohan Padhye and Vincent Hellendoorn at the Program Analysis, Software Testing, and Applications (PASTA) Research Group.

My work is largely in the intersection between human-AI interaction and healthcare informatics. As a systems researcher in Human-Computer Interaction, I embed machine learning technologies (e.g., Natural Language Processing) into new human interactions in healthcare settings. My long term research goal is to build tools to make communication between domain experts and end users more effective.
